...With Love

We were just taking the scenary in, and building up the courage to dip our little fingers in the Barents Sea (it was freezing!)

when all of a sudden a platoon of Norwegian soldiers turned up out of the blue. Could Andy's stone throwing really have caused a diplomatic incident?

Fortunately, the troops did not seem to be too interested in us and they strolled rather casually to another part of the beach

But what were they up to? Our curiosity was piqued and we decided to follow them (albeit discreetly). You can imagine our surprise when all of a sudden they started stripping off and running nakedly into the Barents Sea for a quick skinny dip!!!

Anne Helene has never been so grateful for her telescopic lens and was grinning from ear to ear. Additional photos, and even some video footage, is available on request! It turns out that the Norweigan troops do this every Saturday.

After the Harbitz ladies had calmed down a bit, we decided to head back to Kirknes and find some lunch.
